Frequently Asked Questions
We currently don't have a system; all of our business is paper-based. Can RevenueOne® be implemented easily for us?
RevenueOne® can be effectively implemented without an existing system in place at your locality.
Our implementation team will perform a gap analysis, configure the system to fit your needs, and train staff
on working within RevenueOne. Our ongoing support will provide the necessary help for the system after it goes
live.
How will RevenueOne® keep up with any legislative changes made by the Commonwealth of Virginia? Will we be charged for any related changes to the system?
Timely releases are crucial in keeping up with changing legislative environments. We have on staff
tax experts monitoring Virginia's legislative changes. Avenity will implement the changes quickly
and provide updates to the software when significant mandated changes to Virginia's legislation are made.
We refer to these as legislative releases and they are included in our annual support.
Can I view everything that a taxpayer owes at one time?
Yes. RevenueOne® is a taxpayer—centric system. Each tax type is centered on the individual taxpayer;
you can view all of the accounts for a taxpayer whether they are individuals or a business.
RevenueOne allows easy access to all accounts associated with the taxpayer, all from one central location.
Can I add my own customized notes or comments to a taxpayer's account?
Yes. RevenueOne® allows a user to add a flag to an account to quickly convey critical information to users.
Some flags are system generated, while others can be manually created by users. RevenueOne also allows you to
add free form notes or comments to accounts.
Is workflow supported in RevenueOne®?
RevenueOne® employs the concept of tasks. The Tasks module is a powerful management tool that increases productivity by
clearly prioritizing work. Tasks are "To-do" items. They are units of
work such as printing a letter, reviewing errors from a file load, or entering a required piece of data.
Tasks are created by the system based on business rules and prioritized by critical date.
I get a lot of special requests for reports. Will I be able to design and run my own reports in RevenueOne® ?
Reporting within the RevenueOne® application allows the running of reports using many parameters. During
implementation, our team will work to identify the reporting requirements a locality may have. RevenueOne
also offers a custom reports module that allows users to run their own custom reports on data throughout the
system.
Does RevenueOne® have role-based security or does each person have to have permissions set up individually?
RevenueOne®'s internal security provides for the set up of groups and the assignment of users to these groups.
Permissions are set at the group level. Users are assigned passwords for authentication,
which is typically handled by systems administrators and can be performed within the application.
Users may be assigned to one or many groups. As an alternative, RevenueOne can
integrate with Microsoft Active Directory services. Active Directory provides user and group information.
Can I view correspondence that was sent to a taxpayer? Can I email a copy of correspondence that is stored in RevenueOne® ?
Yes. All correspondence generated by RevenueOne® is stored as a digital image and each piece of correspondence is
attached to the taxpayer's account. Any correspondence sent to the customer can be viewed and reprinted. The images
can be downloaded and attached to an outgoing email message. RevenueOne also allows users to attach correspondence
to accounts.
Does RevenueOne® have the capability to set up a centralized account where all of a customer's information is stored?
Yes. RevenueOne® is a taxpayer-centric system that automatically associates an individual taxpayer's
multiple tax accounts - of different tax types - into a single taxpayer view.
This single taxpayer view allows you to see the complete tax picture.
